Roadway Reconstruction & Related Work on Sections of Route 3, Burgin Parkway and Centre Street

For many years, Quincy has been attempting to expand its Crown Colony Development off Burgin Parkway. In 2007, the Massachusetts Highway Department planned a project that would include several Route 3 on-ramps to streamline traffic and make this area more accessible. Having been awarded the $15.9 million contract, E.T.& L. Corp. constructed a new on-ramp for Route 3 northbound that stemmed directly from the development. Another new on-ramp with an 800 foot viaduct bridge was also erected, which now allows all north and southbound traffic on Route 3 to avoid the traffic lights at Centre Street. Thanks to the swift and excellent execution of this project, new businesses like Lowes and B.J.’s have found new locations in the immediate area.
