As you travel around New England you’ll see hundreds of projects E.T.& L. Corp. has completed. We often feel a bit of nostalgia for the places we’ve worked and people we’ve met along the way. Here’s a small sampling of those past projects.

 
In January of 2018, E.T.& L. Corp. was low bidder on a $2.1 million project to replace the Mill Street bridge over the Mill River in Amherst, MA. This project includes the removal and disposal of the existing bridge foundations and bridge superstructure and constructing a new 37’-6” long single span bridge carrying one, one-way vehicle lane and one multi-use path. Spring of 2018, E.T.& L. Corp. was awarded a $600,000 job in Southwick, MA to replace the Shurtleff Brook Bridge on North Loomis Street. The bridge, which was originally constructed in or around 1914, was found to have several deficiencies at the time of its most recent inspection, and will be replaced with a new bridge that will meet federal and state guidelines. Colrain Spring of 2016, E.T.& L. Corp. was awarded a $9.5 million, multi-span bridge project in Colrain, MA. The project consists of replacing the existing Jacksonville Road Bridge over the North River, as well as the reconstruction of a portion of Jacksonville Road. The existing bridge has 5 spans with a total length of 275 feet and will be replaced by a 4 span, 302 foot length structure with new concrete abutments and piers. E.T.& L. Corp. is currently working on replacing the existing 3.5 million gallon steel plate water storage tank at Indian Head Heights for the Town of Framingham, MA. The $6.4 million contract includes the demolition of the existing 3.5 million gallon water tank which will be replaced by two 1.75 million gallon precast concrete water tanks. E.T.& L. Corp. has been subcontracted to perform sitework for a new gas company training facility in Shrewsbury. The contract, totaling $5 million, includes clearing and grubbing of the area, stripping topsoil, site cuts and fills of 180,000 cy, rip rap slope stabilization, furnishing and installing gravel for sidewalks and bituminous paving base, and furnishing and installing the site drainage system and concrete curb. In September of 2016, E.T.& L. Corp. was awarded a $1.6 million contract by the City of Northampton. The contract is for the reconstruction of the River Road retaining wall and a portion of the supported roadway. River Road runs adjacent to Mill River and contains the Town of Williamsburg's sanitary sewer interceptor line. In September of 2016, E.T.& L. Corp. was the low bidder on a major site project in Marlborough, MA. The $11,000,000.00 project for Walker Realty, LLC is to prepare the site for the construction of the Apex Center, a state-of-the-art entertainment complex. In December of 2015, E.T.& L. Corp was awarded a $4.8 Million project by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to build phase II of the Clipper City Rail Trail. This project is part of the development of the Border to Boston Trail, the Coastal Trails Coalition, and the much larger vision of the East Coast Greenway, which seek to expand these systems of bicycle and pedestrian trails as alternative transportation links to town centers, schools, businesses and amenities, and public…
The Columbia Greenway Rail Trail is a multi use recreational trail in Westfield MA which, when completed, will join the City of Westfield with the Southwick Rail Trail and the Farmington Valley Greenway in Connecticut. Eventually, the trail will extend northward from the Westfield River to connect to the Manhan Rail Trail in Southampton and Easthampton and the Norwottuck Rail Trail in Northampton. E.T.& L. The Town of Sudbury awarded a $2.1 million contract to E.T.& L. Corp. to improve the important intersection of Hudson Road, Old Sudbury Road (Route 27) and Concord Road in the picturesque historic Sudbury Center District. In August 2014, the City of Marlborough, aided by a MassWorks Infrastructure Grant, awarded E.T.& L. Corp. a $3.2 million contract for the reconstruction of Simarano Drive, a vital roadway in the city’s southwest corner. The Simarano Drive area is home to many businesses, including Quest Diagnostics, TJX Companies corporate headquarters, as well as a mixed-use development which includes an apartment complex, restaurants, retail space and a Hilton Garden Inn. In 1929, the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) donated 1,020 acres to the Commonwealth for a state forest in Goshen, MA. Since then, more than 750 additional acres have been acquired to include Upper and Lower Highland Lakes, which offer a popular swimming beach, camp sites, a shady picnic area and a group picnic pavilion. The Canal Walk is a 9,000 foot long pedestrian walkway along the First and Second Level Canals in the center of the Canal Arts & Industry District in historic downtown Holyoke. In February 2014, E. T. & L. Corp was awarded the Green River Covered Bridge Rehabilitation contract with the Town of Greenfield, MA. The existing bridge was rebuilt in 1972 and recently suffered significant damages from Hurricane Irene in August 2011. The bridge is a wooden covered bridge founded on a concrete abutment on the east side and a field stone abutment on the west side. In December 2013, E. T. & L. Corp was awarded the Wickham Hill Water Storage Basin Improvement contract by The MDC.  Located in East Hartford, the Wickham Hill facility is part of the MDC’s system that provides drinking water to 400,000 customers in the Greater Hartford area.  The facility consists of two underground storage basins with a combined capacity of 4.5 million gallons.
