On November 1, 2022, Bond Civil and Utility Construction, Inc. issued E.T.& L. Corp. a Notice to Proceed on the site work portion of their Eversource – Sudbury to Hudson Reliability Project 115 Transmission Line Duct Bank project. This $12 million subcontract included 12 miles of path construction on an existing railroad right of way through the towns of Sudbury, Stow and Hudson. Work included clearing and grubbing, erosion controls, removal of existing railroad rails and ties, excavation and grading. There were 2 prefabricated structural steel truss bridges installed spanning Hop Brook and Fort Meadow Brook, as well as a precast arch culvert at Chestnut Street, and there was also a bridge which received a new timber deck and railing built on the existing steel girders. Following Bonds installation of their ductbank in the newly created path, we placed gravel borrow, loam, seed and landscape plantings along the path. In addition, there were numerous historical features from the former railroad that needed to be relocated along the path. Work was completed in November 2024.
