Location: WINDSOR LOCKS, CT
In April 2021, the Connecticut Airport Authority awarded E.T.& L. Corp. a $14 million project at the Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT. The project consisted of reconfiguring and reconstructing a relocated Taxiway E, partially within the same footprint of the existing decommissioned Runway 1-19 and constructing new intersection points on each end of the reconfigured taxiway on Runway 15-33 and Taxiway C. The scope of work included excavation and disposal of existing pavement materials (asphalt), base materials, and subbase materials, as well as any unclassified excavation of existing subsurface materials necessary for the reconfigured layout; removal and disposal/salvage of existing runway and taxiway edge lighting systems and guidance signs with foundations, drainage improvements including extension of pipes and catch basins; installation and maintenance of construction erosion and sedimentation control best management practices; installation of new subbase materials, base materials, asphalt pavement and pavement markings; installation of new taxiway edge light systems (conduits, lights, & cabling) and guidance signs (foundations, conduits, & cabling); Airport Lighting Control and Monitoring System modifications; and restoration of growth to disturbed areas.
