In September, 2019, E.T.& L. Corp. was low bidder on a project for the City of Lowell to reconstruct Thorndike Street (Lord Overpass), including several bridges. The $22.9 million project included the demolition of the existing Middlesex Street and Appleton Street bridges over Thorndike Street, filling in of the Lord Overpass to bring the intersections between Middlesex Street, Appleton Street, and Thorndike Street up to grade, extending the existing pier within the canal for the Pawtucket Canal Bridge, as well as minor modifications to the bridge deck of the existing Pawtucket Canal Bridge. Also included was the reconstruction of Thorndike Street and the intersections with Fletcher Street, Middlesex Street, Appleton Street, Chelmsford Street, and Summer Street.
