E.T.& L. Corp. received the notice to proceed in April 2026 for the superstructure replacement of Bridge No. S-10-024, County Road over Ironwork Brook in Sheffield, MA. This $1.7 million MassDOT project includes the demolition of the existing bridge superstructure, partial demolition of the bridge substructure, construction of a new single span bridge superstructure and modifications to the existing abutments and wingwalls. The proposed bridge will be comprised of a hot mix asphalt overlay on a reinforced concrete deck with spread deck beams supported by reinforced concrete abutments.  This project also includes work on the approach roadway, including full-depth reconstruction, mill and overlay, profile adjustment, roadway embankment work, highway guardrail, and other safety elements.

Work is scheduled to begin in Summer 2026.
