In September of 2016, E.T.& L. Corp. was low bidder on a $2 million, MassDOT project to rehabilitate the East Street Bridge over the Chicopee River in the towns of Ludlow and Wilbraham. After failing an inspection, the bridge was closed by MassDOT in March 2015, and needed extensive repairs before it could be reopened. In order to perform repairs to the corroded abutments, the bridge was lifted and temporarily supported from underneath. Deteriorated concrete and reinforcing steel on the abutments and bridge deck were removed and replaced. The old bridge railings was removed and replaced with new railings, and the bridge was repaved and repainted.
