In December 2024, E.T.& L. Corp. was low bidder on a $4 million MassDOT project in New Marlborough for the complete replacement of the Keyes Hill Road Bridge over Umpachene River. It includes the demolition of the existing superstructure and substructures, and the construction of a new single span prestressed concrete deck beam bridge. The proposed bridge is comprised of hot mix asphalt overlay on 5” min. concrete deck slab on prestressed concrete deck beams supported by spread footing on tremie concrete foundation. During construction, the existing bridge will be closed, and traffic will be detoured.
Work also includes the approach roadway including roadway reconstruction, profile adjustments, roadway embankment work, bridge riprap protection system, highway guardrail, and other safety elements.
Construction on this project is expected to be complete in July 2027.
