In June of 2024, E.T.& L. Corp. was awarded a MassDOT project for the replacement of Bridge No. M-27-15 (176), which carries Old Wales Road Over Conant Brook in Monson, MA. The two-year, $2.8 million project will replace the existing single span structure with a single span, precast spread deck beam and concrete slab bridge on concrete abutments.

Work includes temporary shoring, installation of temporary control of water and stream diversion, complete demolition of the existing superstructure and substructure including wingwalls, the construction of new cast-in-place abutments and wingwalls, fabrication and installation of 15” deep by 36” wide precast concrete spread deck beams, construction of an 8” thick reinforced concrete deck slab with a 3” superpave asphalt wearing surface, cast-in-place concrete safety curbs, steel S3-TL4 bridge rails, and roadway safety upgrades including approach guardrail and shoulder improvements.

Work on this project is expected to be complete in the Summer of 2026.
