In 2017, MassDOT awarded E.T.& L. Corp. the Rehabilitation of the Truck Escape Ramp project on Route 90 in the Town of Russell.  The truck escape ramp is located on the Eastbound lanes of I-90, just west of the Westfield River.  This project increased the arrester bed depth from 30″ deep to the current AASHTO recommendation.  The existing stone in the arrester bed was removed, trucked off site, screened, washed and placed back in the arrester bed.  Additional stone was hauled in to fill the arrester bed.  The service road alongside the arrester bed was milled and paved and guardrails were removed and reset with new milling mulch.
